Should I respond to negative reviews?

Reviews & Reputation — answered straight, by an operator who builds these systems rather than an agency selling them.

Short answer

Always, and quickly. The response is not for the reviewer — it is for the dozens of prospects reading it later. A short, factual, non-defensive reply that offers to fix the problem offline neutralizes most of the damage.

The longer version

A structure that works: thank them for the feedback, state the fact that needs correcting if there is one, take responsibility for what was yours, and move the conversation to a phone number. Four sentences. No arguing, no legal threats, no explaining the customer to themselves.

Never disclose private details of the job in a public reply — in some contexts that creates its own legal exposure, and it always reads badly. Also respond to positive reviews; a profile where the owner replies to everything reads as an attentive business.

Let's build something real.
