How many pages should a contractor website have?
Local SEO — answered straight, by an operator who builds these systems rather than an agency selling them.
One page per service you sell, one per town you actually serve, plus hubs, an about page, contact, and an FAQ section. For most trades operating across a metro that lands between 60 and 300 pages. Page count is a byproduct of coverage, not a goal in itself.
The longer version
The reason is mechanical: search engines rank pages, not businesses. A single "Services" page listing eleven services competes for none of them well. Eleven pages, each about one service, each linked from the right city pages, competes for all eleven.
The limit is honesty. Build a page for a town you will not drive to and you have built a page that cannot convert and may not rank. Coverage should match your real service radius — and when it does, the page count takes care of itself.
